Old man Irwell! Who’s scared of dyin’?
a river crossin’ we aim a-tryin’
we won’t go sailin’, we won’t go flyin’
                        across.

Here we-all go on our own Prime Mover
Here we-all go on an A.C.V.
Here we-all made for a souped-up Hoover
Lawdy have mercy on such as we!

                        Ain’t no ’plane
                      She ain’t no boat
Don’t know what to call her but we hope she’ll float …

Old Man River, he’s dark and stinkin’
and Lawd almighty, ah think we’re sinkin’!
Who said the water was fit for drinkin’?
                        It ain’t.
